The role
You’ll be delivering a customer focused professional service to support the Environment Agency’s key operational activities and deal with complex land entry, acquisition and compensation arrangements. You will build and maintain good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, landowners and internal colleagues. With a keen commercial awareness there will be opportunities to be involved with management of all types of land and property, especially agricultural.
 
You will be expected to deliver professional advice and operational customers and provide expertise in either or both of the following specialist areas: Compensation and Acquisition, supporting capital projects, Valuation and Estates management for land & property held for operational purposes
 
You will be have the opportunity to supervise and mentor other team members, particularly those progressing towards full RICS membership
 
You’ll be expected to travel, so you’ll need a full UK driving licence, and some overnight stays may be necessary.
 
The team
The team provides a customer focused service to the Environment Agency’s key operational activities, primarily supporting the National Flood and Coastal Risk Management Capital Programme and other operational projects.

It also maintains a functional land and property strategy to meet corporate and environmental goals and acts as an intelligent client lead on partnering with external bodies to influence them to contribute to our projects.

About you
MRICS qualified, you have a proven track record delivering results in an operational environment. You will also have experience of negotiation and dispute resolution with landowners and occupiers. Broad project management experience would be useful, and if you can demonstrate how you’ve supported major capital projects, even better. Credible, knowledgeable and influential, you’re a confident communicator with good networking, negotiation and dispute resolution skills. With up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and best practice, you’re able to provide specialist advice to senior managers, external partners and tenants.
