Stan Edwards is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds an MBA from Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. He was Vice Chairman of the CPA in 2006/7 where had served as committee member and advisor on CPO process since 2003. He is based in Newport as a Director of his own firm, Evocati Consultancy. His experience and knowledge spans over 40 years in property development and regeneration in the public sector in Cwmbran Development Corporation, the Land Authority for Wales and the WDA. Thirty of the 40 years involved CPO delivery. In the past he was part of the team delivering the CPT series ‘Understanding CPOs’. His emphasis now has moved from traditional ‘top down’ CPOs to embrace the principles of sustainability and community engagement. His specialist area is the process from strategy formulation, synthesis and project management in the promotion of CPOs and in forensic analysis for challenge.

Paul has over 30 years experience of Compulsory Purchase issues. Most of his involvement over the last ten years has been acting claimant-side for national retailers facing regeneration schemes in town centres. In addition to this he has acted for several developers as part of the team promoting regeneration-based Compulsory Purchase Orders in various parts of the country.

Michael Orlik is one of the UK’s leading authorities on the law of highways and Rights of Way. He concentrates on planning, highways, local government, compulsory purchase and compensation work and heads the Highways and Rights of Way team in the Commercial Property Department.

His depth of knowledge is due in part to 20 years’ experience in local government, where he worked for four different Councils, ultimately as Chief Executive of the Surrey Heath Borough Council in Camberley.

He has written the text book “Introduction of Highway Law” and contributes the monthly law column for the Surveyor magazine and articles for the Rights of Way Law Review.

Michael has both public and private sector clients. He is Chairman of the Warwickshire Local Access Forum. He also lectures widely.

Michael joined Lodders in 2002.

Founding member and former Chairman of the CPA.  Richard is a Director of Jones Lang LaSalle, based in London being responsible for a wide range of compulsory purchase advice for Acquiring Authorities, Developers and Claimants. He has worked on major town centre, regeneration and infrastructure cpos.  Richard is the past Chairman of the RICS Compulsory Purchase and Compensation Policy Panel and remains a member of the panel. He is also a member of the RICS Planning and Development Faculty Board and a member of the British Property Federation Technical Planning Committee.

Anthony Curnow is a partner in the real estate department in London and is head of the planning and public sector group. He has particular expertise in major infrastructure and regeneration/redevelopment projects in the UK, involving planning, compulsory purchase and environmental assessment. He advises both public and private sector clients and has led Ashurst teams on numerous high value schemes including city centre mixed use developments and projects for new roads, railways and bridges.
Anthony also specialises in local authority legal work, having spent 11 years in senior positions in UK local government offices before joining Ashurst.

Jonathan is a Partner in the Regeneration Team at Bond Pearce LLP specialising in compulsory purchase and planning.  He principally acts for acquiring authorities promoting schemes and dealing with consequential compensation claims.  He also for claimants seeking compensation following the implementation of compulsory purchase powers and has also acted for successful objectors to a regeneration scheme in Plymouth. An active member of the Compulsory Purchase Association Jonathan presented a case law update to the south west regional meeting in November 2009.  He also regularly lectures on CPO and redevelopment.
