There are significant CPO developments in hand with the Principality, and many challenges facing CPO more generally. If you do CPOs, planning, regeneration, urban renewal, road schemes, and if you work in Wales, then this event is a must. The Compulsory Purchase Association, with over 850 members, now has a dedicated Welsh National Committee, and is actively engaged with Welsh Government and the CPA national agendas.

The pandemic, the lockdowns, and the disruption to the economy makes it essential that infrastructure, urban renewal and community benefits schemes are brought forward as a way to move the country back into a better place. CPO is a major tool for assembling land and if done right, creates certainty both in terms of success, a specific time frame and with an effective management of costs.
The Welsh Government is committed to CPO reform, so its in the interests of both the private and public sector to understand and grasp the opportunities that are in the pipeline.
COVID forced the national conference on-line last year. But given its success, challenges with geography, transport infrastructure and distances, and that the virtual meetings have become an embedded feature of working life, the CPO Welsh committee has decided to again bring this event to you virtually. You get all the benefits of the content, the convenience and safety, and the cost benefits participating from your desk (whether at home or in the office).

Who Should Attend?
  • Local Planning authorities should be seeking to send representatives from their estates, planning legal and regeneration teams.
  • Private practice, who are at the cutting edge, providing professional support for promoters and claimants alike, whether as surveyor, negotiator, planner, accountant or lawyer.
