Jonathan Stott, Managing Director, Gateley Hamer
Jonathan is Managing Director of Gateley Hamer having joined to establish their Compulsory Purchase & Compensation team in 2013. Jonathan has over 14 years' experience working in the field of compulsory purchase and he was co-opted on the CPA Committee in 2015 and elected for a two-year term in 2016.
Jonathan has experience working for promoting and acquiring authorities and for claimants. He is a RICS accredited expert witness and regularly gives evidence to public inquiries, hearings and Select Committees.
Since joining the CPA Jonathan has been actively involved with the YCPA, spending two years on the YCPA Steering Group and the Midlands regional CPA group. His objectives for 2018/19 are set out below:
- Continue to effectively represent the views of our membership:
- Ensure the Board reflects the diverse make-up of the membership;
- Involve an increased number of members on Working Groups.
- Improve communication with members:
- Continue to issue quarterly newsletters and upload all consultation responses to the website;
- Increase the number and frequency of regional events;
- Increase use of social media;
- Work more closely with the YCPA to grow awareness of CP-related careers and provide more value to student members.
- Develop our position as the voice of best practise on matters relating to compulsory purchase and land assembly:
- Work more closely with other professional bodies incl RICS, RTPI, NIPA, PEBA, CAAV etc;
- Become the ‘go-to’ voice in industry and national press, working with our PR agency Advent Communications.
