The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Surveyor to Senior Associate to come and join our growing Valuation and Compensation teams. Whilst we are ideally looking for a candidate to join the team in Ashby, we may be able to offer the right candidate an office based in Birmingham, Worcester, Manchester, Liverpool, Banbury, Knutsford or London, which also house many of our complimentary service lines.

We operate in a number of sectors and specialise in the acquisition of land and rights, acting on behalf of both claimants and acquirers. You will be responsible for advising on compulsory purchase and land assembly projects from conception to completion, acting for both affected parties and acquiring authorities.

You will also advise on the compulsory purchase process, including CPOs, DCOs, and TWAOs, as well as the process for acquiring rights for infrastructure in the absence of statutory powers. There is also wider opportunities to be involved in assisting with fees and tenders for new business, as well as mentoring and managing junior members of the team, including assisting with the RICS/APC process.

The successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum of 3 year’s post qualification experience (MRICS or AssocRICS) in a similar role
  • Self-confident and assertiveness in dealing with opposing agents; an experienced negotiator
  • A full driving licence
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills. The ability to prioritise own workload effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • High awareness and concern for customer service requirements
  • Ability to self-manage in order to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in a wide range of computer applications
  • A good team player with line management experience (preferred) whilst being an effective lone worker
  • A positive attitude able to think creatively to find solutions
